March 10th, the
Brainformatics science conference was conducted on our school. Representatives
from provincial hospital, Chinese Academy of Science, and many of researchers
from overseas joined our event.
The president of UESTC (Yanrong Li) stated that neuroscience has been a
popular cutting-edge topic of science over these years, with a wide range of
application. Academician Zongben Xu from Chinese
Academy of Science shared his studies on artificial intelligence (AI) and brain science in the conference. He argued that the future development of AI is going to be built up upon the brain science and Chengdu has advantages over numerous aspects. Hence, as long as we make appropriate strategic movement, the future of this field is worth looking for. Professor Ming Fan from the Academy of Military Medication connected us online during the conference and introduced us outlines of brain science development both across different provinces and globally. Based on his introduction, the government is giving brain science prioritized attention and resources among those projects of high importance.
Participants of
this conference reached a consensus that UESTC as the leading institution of
this scientific branch should be well-aware of our advantages and work with integrated
resources to open up the future.
